The Soarer was released in February 1981 as Toyota's first luxury personal car. Its sophisticated long-nose, short-deck style, high-performance six-cylinder engine, and luxurious equipment that made extensive use of cutting-edge car electronics at the time attracted great popularity and attention. The VR Turbo was added to the Soarer lineup in June 1981. Equipped with an in-line six-cylinder turbo engine that produced 145 horsepower, the transmission is a four-speed AT, and the suspension employs four-wheel independent suspension in pursuit of excellent driving performance. It enabled comfortable and spacious high-speed driving, and solidified its reputation as the finest personal car of the 1980s.

The Soarer's sharp style with excellent aerodynamic characteristics is modeled as accurately as on the real vehicle in Tamiya's 1/24-scale model kit! The sunroof slides open and closed, and can be assembled as either the steel type or the glass type. The interior and the underside of the chassis have a three-dimensional feel, and the tires are made of realistic synthetic rubber. The Toyota Celica LB Turbo was a Group 5 car developed for the 1977 DRM (German Racing Championship). Based upon the road car Celica Liftback 2000GT, the car featured aerodynamic components such as bulging over fenders and rear wing, and employed numerous FRP body panels, which helped keep its weight down to a mere 860kg. An body extensively modified by Schnitzer and a 2,090cc, 560hp inline-4 DOHC turbo engine were utilized. This car made its debut in July 1977, and in October of the same year, it beat the Porsche 935 and achieved its maiden victory.

About the Model
This is a 1/24 scale plastic model assembly kit. Length: 240mm, width: 105mm, height: 61mm.
The highly modified fastback form is captured in style. A removable front cowl lets you take a closer look at the detailed 560hp engine underneath. The roll cage is recreated in the interior. Solid synthetic rubber tires are different widths front and rear, both with a realistic finish. Cartograph decals are included and give you a choice between No.56 and No.68 cars. The kit comes with a driver figure.
