Hornby The Beatles 'Revolver' Wagon

Unleashed on August 5, 1966, 'Revolver' marked The Beatles' seventh studio album and served as their swan song before bidding farewell to live performances. This groundbreaking album introduced a plethora of remarkable songs, including 'Taxman', 'Eleanor Rigby', 'Yellow Submarine', and 'Got to Get You into My Life', all of which stand among The Beatles' finest compositions.

'Revolver' embraced technological advancements to forge a fresh musical path, making it a pivotal catalyst in shaping the future of pop music. Its innovative approach has had a lasting impact. In honor of this influential album, Hornby presents a special edition goods van adorned with bespoke artwork inspired by the iconic 'Revolver' album.

A standard British Rail General Utility Van, windowless and adorned in the eye catching bright red and white Coca Cola aesthetic. A General Utility Van (GUV) is a type of rail vehicle built by British Rail primarily for transporting mail and parcels. They were used by both Rail Express Systems and Rail track. Operating companies such as Colas Rail and continue using them to this day. Our model combines the hardiness and general purpose of a reliably serviceable Parcels and Miscellaneous Van as The Southern Railway named them with the household sweet drinks brand supplying its customers since 1886.

The MHA ballast/spoil box wagons were built using redundant HAA underframes by RFS(E) Doncaster in 1997. An initial order for 250 was extended several times until eventually over 1,150 wagons were converted using two distinct body styles. Early examples wore the fish-kind name "Coalfish" and some are still in use today with DB.This particular 'Coalfish' model features custom 'painted over' livery.
