    Airfix A03001V 1/72 De Havilland Heron MkII
    Building on the success of de Havilland's earlier twin engine Dove small passenger aircraft, the company's attempt to produce a slightly larger airliner resulted in the first flight of the Heron in May 1950. Capable of comfortably carrying 17 passengers, the Heron had a lower fuselage and wings than its predecessor and employed an additional pair of Gipsy Queen engines, providing reassurance for crew and passengers alike.

    Early models of the aircraft were produced with a fixed undercarriage, but the Mk.II variant introduced a number of upgrades and improvements, most noticeably being the adoption of a retractable undercarriage, with the resultant reduction in drag providing a welcome performance boost. Although only 150 were built, Herons served with both the RAF and Royal Navy.

    The Boeing F/A-18F Super Hornet is a modern twin-engine, carrier-capable, single-seat fighter directly derived from the original design of the McDonnell Douglas F/A-18 Hornet. Larger and heavier than its predecessor, it is characterized by significantly improved flight and combat performance. Noticeable evolutionary design changes can best be seen in the revised wing-shape which is able to ensure maximum performance, particularly in terms of maneuverability. Additional design improvements can also be seen in the newer intake ramps for the engines, and also in the enhanced tail design. The aircraft originally entered service with the United States Navy in the early 2000's to replace the F-14 Tomcat, with the primary role of fleet air defense. Deployed with an increased mission range and the adoption of improved avionic systems, it is one of the more effective carrier-based fighters. It is armed with a 20mm M61 internal gun and can carry air-to-air missiles mounted on its under-wing hard points. The two-seater F / A-18F Super Hornet was designed and developed from its earlier single-seat version. The aircraft demonstrated a high level of operational flexibility including fleet air defense, ground attack, close support and interdiction roles.

    T-34B "Mentor" US Navy - Minicraft 1/48
    After WWII, the US military recognized a need for a cost effective 'higher performance' aircraft capable of good speed and maneuverability with gentle flight characteristics to train new pilots. Funding was scarce, so the U.S. military turned to Beechcraft Aviation to modify their successful Bonanza into a tandem seat military trainer. The resulting Mentor proved to be a very successful design which was ultimately used by the United States Air Force and the United States Navy. The T-34 A/B Mentor series ceased production in 1959. Now retired from US military, many examples of this successful design can still be seen in flight today under private ownership.

    This new release of the U.S. Navy T-34B includes a clear stand and unique markings for a striking US Navy Mentor and choice of markings for two T-34B aircraft in U.S. Navy service.

    This is an injection-plastic airliner model kit, 1/72 scale.

    The DC-9 is a twin-engine small jet airliner that first flew in 1965, and the -30 type is a definitive model that entered service in 1967; over 600 of this version were produced. The -30 type has the fuselage of the -10 extended by 4.55 meters, increasing the maximum takeoff weight to 55 tons, and changing the engine to the JT8D-9 type or JT8D-11 type (thrust 64kN and 67kN respectively). In addition, by adding leading edge slats to the main wing, the stall characteristics during takeoff and landing have been improved, making stable takeoff and landing possible. This machine was adopted by the U.S. military as the C-9.
